I'm having difficulties with running catalog.sql in svrmgrl. I start svrmgrl, I connect as internal, then I want to run catalog.sql, and all it does is advance to the next line and then nothing!
I'm sure I'm overlooking something, but I can't figure out what it is...
I have HP UX 11 with Oracle 817

Try:
sqlplus internal
SQL> @catalog
I am assuming the DB was created without errors and started. Check your alert log and trace files in bdump. Monitor the job for I/O and CPU.

Yes, the database is running, and I am sure the job is not running. I saw that I didn't fully post what I saw in SVRMGRL, so that could be confusing. This is what happens:
SVRMGR> @catalog
2>
So svrmgrl asks for input, but this should not happen right?

This should not happen. You could be running out of resources. Did you follow the Installation Guide and it's recommendations on kernal settings. The default for semiphores is too low. Set it to at least 600.
