DNS (Domain Name Server) is a system that translates host names into numeric Internet addresses.
Eg. www.orafaq.com --> 192.86.154.104
Utilities like "host" and "nslookup" can be used to lookup DNS entries. Some examples:
$ host orafaq.com orafaq.com has address 192.86.154.104
$ nslookup orafaq.com ... Non-authoritative answer: Name: orafaq.com Address: 192.86.154.104
